The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 151

It was a lovely place with a homey feel to it. The only thing missing was the fragrance of home cooking wafting in the air to complete the aesthetic.

“It’s just like my grandpa’s place though slightly smaller,” said Zi Han looking at the ceiling lights which were arranged in an artistic way, “whose place is it?”

Yi Chen who was standing behind Zi Han bit his lip resisting the urge to say, “Ours.” In the end, he just smiled and said, “It’s my home.”

Zi Han spun his body around and looked at him with a look of puzzlement. He couldn’t help but wonder why Yi Chen would personally purchase a home when he could just stay with his parents.

After thinking about it for a while he suddenly grinned slyly as though he had figured it out. “Class president Chen, I never thought you were that kind of person. Uhhh you bought a love nest to bring your girlfriend over without your family knowing about it. How spicy?”

As he said this he walked over to him in slow strides with the corner of his lips quirking upwards even more. His eyes were like that of an auntie looking for gossip.

Yi Chen knew part of his words were right so he didn’t deny it. “Ahem, you can say that but I don’t have any intentions of hiding it from my family,” he replied averting his gaze as though being bashful.

Zi Han who didn’t think Yi Chen would directly spill the tea easily was a little disappointed. What fun was it if the prisoner confessed readily? It’s much more fun watching them squirm first and then spill their guts when they had reached their limit.

.....

“Huh? That was easy. So you really bought a love nest? I thought you were still single?” asked Zi Han while Yi Chen walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge.

Hearing this Yi Chen’s fingers tightened around the bottle of water in his hand. He was definitely single but he already had an idea who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

“I am.... what would you like to drink?” he asked still standing by the fridge with his back facing Zi Han.

Zi Han tapped the kitchen counter with his fingertips and replied, “Water will be fine....,” but he still had a lot of unanswered questions thus he continued, “then do you perhaps have someone in mind. I mean you bought a very expensive home out of pocket thus you must have someone you like, right?”

Yi Chen twisted the cap for him and handed him the bottle. The route in which this conversation was headed wasn’t right thus he tried to change the subject. “Why are you asking so many questions all of a sudden? Are you that curious about me?”

Zi Han didn’t shy away directly admitting it, “Yes, aren’t we friends? Of course, I would be curious.” With a slight tilt of his head, he drank two mouthfuls with his adam’s apple rolling underneath his smooth skin.

Yi Chen wanted to shut down this conversation but he found himself staring at Zi Han’s exposed neck and collarbone that had a slight flush possibly from the intense training or maybe the steaming shower he had before they left the academy.

His breathing stalled and his mind became a muddled mess that he ended up saying something that he didn’t intend to say in the first place. “So hot,” he whispered his voice hoarse like he was suffering from dehydration.

Zi Han put down the bottle of water and tugged at the collar of his t-shirt while complaining, “It is.... you haven’t installed a smart housekeeping AI yet?”

Yi Chen instantly came back to himself. He cleared his throat while responding, “No, I haven’t yet,” before tapping his light brain to handle it manually. He hadn’t gotten around to doing it yet.

He was too excited to bring Zi Han here so immediately after purchasing a few pieces of furniture he tricked him over.

Zi Han suddenly felt the urge to tease Yi Chen. Bringing out his concealed roguish side he said, “Well, you have to install it quickly. If you get too hot in the future doing the ‘you know what’ you might pass out from a heat stroke.”

Yi Chen who had no idea what the ‘you know what’ Zi Han was talking about asked, “What do you mean?” while opening his bottle of water. He took a few sips only to choke on it when Zi Han said,

“What else could it be apart from sex? Didn’t you say this was a love nest?”

“*Cough, cough, cough..... oh god, cough,” coughed Yi Chen having not expected him to say that. He had assumed that Zi Han was talking about exercise or something. What he didn’t realize was that he was indeed referring to exercise just a special kind.

Zi Han grabbed a paper towel from the countertop and handed it to him with slight concern. He hadn’t expected Yi Chen to choke on water because of his teasing.

“Are you okay?” he asked and Yi Chen nodded his head while wiping his mouth that had a few drops of water.

Yi Chen cleared his throat and said something on an impulse, “You seem curious about me so how about you answer my question first?”

Zi Han had already moved on from his question earlier but since Yi Chen was willing to share then he didn’t mind. “Then go ahead and ask? I won’t keep anything from you,” he said while pressing his lower back against the counter.

Yi Chen lowered his head to meet his line of sight and asked, “Do you have someone you like?”

Zi Han chuckled his gaze shifting away from Yi Chen momentarily. Yi Chen wasn’t the only one curious about this. Shorty and Shaun had blocked him two days ago and asked why he rejected that pretty girl.

When he gave them his honest answer they didn’t believe him. What was so hard to accept. He just didn’t want to fall in love.
